Apologies for the computer freeze, that score should have been a ten.

It's a great concept which was very well executed, indeed. The over-all artistry is excellent, yet the subtle details are what truly make the piece. The shattered remains of a horse in the entry behind the hero give light to the history behind the action, while the shadow of the gorgon on the rock ahead of him establishes the architect of his doom. Without either piece, part of the story would be missing, but together, the full tale is told. Amazing Art.

I would have really liked to have seen a larger diorama with the medusa (gorgon) in it to tell the complete tale. Doing so could make the scene even more dynamic. If the gorgon is just out of scene and the warrior completes the transformation to stone just before the axe blade strikes is much more dramatic than if he is across the room and would never make it across to kill her. Just something to think about. As it is, it is still a very impressive and expressive piece of work and I am grading it on that alone. I do like the way you blend the stone effect with the "normal" coloration of the various pieces (skin, shield, clothing, etc.) Well done.
