I started this figure shortly after it was released, and it has taken me until now to get round to finishing it. The actual figure of Harry is easy to paint and there's lots of areas where you can add your own touches; for me it was the skulls on the shield and shoulder pad and the tiger fur cloak.
But the base is a piggin' nightmare. It didnt fit together all that well so plent of filling but the worst is trying to work out what is what as there are so many bits of arm, armour, cloth and weapons all jumbled up.
I decided to make this a show piece with a display base and added some extra bits of skeletons as well as a brass etched name plate on the front.
Ages to finish but i'm glad he's finally done.
Any comments welcome.

Vanatosis 17-Jan-09 #281317 | | Rating: 8 Very busy piece, well done. I think a bit more highlights/lowlights on the skeletons would really make this piece pop. Love the base. |
Scribbles 17-Jan-09 #281316 | | Rating: 8 Very very nice, nmm turned out great, especially like the ageing on the dead mans shield, not too keen on the tiger cloak but that's my own preference, well executed non the less.
I know what you mean about the base, I have this figure somewhere, opened the box to see the mish-mash of base components and closed it up again haha, perhaps when I'm feeling more adventurous I'll give it a go.
Good job mate. |
PerfectMiniature 17-Jan-09 #281308 | | Rating: 9 the picture is terrible like the rest pictures of your works. great job the base is terrific ;p
i don't like that style (BIG CONTRAST) but it's fits here
the reason of bad picture is the low light and bad light!
i have the same problem but now i have too lighten ;p but the light is correct
buy the energy-saving bulb but 5600K!!! (day light)--------(NOT2700K - yellow light)
this is the beast! use 2 light sources and technical carbon paper to diffuse light
...
you can also paint blue ink the bulb this helps but do not save on your own works!
the rating 8.5 IMO
