Now that I've been busy with figuring out my camera, and playing some more in Photoshop, here's my second offering to the site: a Games Workshop Space Ork Nob. This is the concept figure for a Bad Moons army I may or may not end up finishing (since I have about 4 other armies in progress right now). But it was a fun miniature to paint, and my first experimentation with Future Floor Finish glazing (on the flesh, and on the weapons, and the dangling skull). I'm very pleased with the 'rusty metal' effect I was able to achieve on the weapon with a few simple washes. As for the gore on the knife, well, I couldn't resist.

As usual, comments are appreciated, as is constructive criticism...

Joe

man, talk about taking a normal mini above and beyond, damn good skin, really highlighted his muscles like ive never seen before on any GW orc and the scheme isnt blazing with heavy contrast in shading and highlights, almost a very real looking job. wow, i gotta check ur others out sir!

Got to comment on this one: That is a very good tonality for an Ork. The whole paintjob looks 'Clean', as in well painted. But IMHO perhaps he's not grimy enough for an Ork. Nice one though.

I really like the way you did this. Excellent work. The case of shells is a nice touch.

Very nice shading on his arms. I like the box of shells and the polished helmet. There are an awful lot of bright green lines, especially on the backs of his arms and stomach. To me they look like his skin is very saggy and wrinkly and suggest he is quite old - grampa orc.
